Sew Your Coaster together

You want to sew around your coaster. I clip the pieces in place but you can also use pins.

Leave a big enough space so that you can flip your pieces. In the video, I didn’t do mine big enough and had to take my seam ripper. You will love it at the end.

Flip your coaster and use your iron to close your opening.

Finish Your Scrap fabric coaster

You are nearly finished with your scrap fabric tutorial. Sew around your coaster using a 1/4″ seam allowance making sure you close your opening.

To keep the batting from shifting when washing, I quilted my coaster.

Simply sew a seam from one corner to another. When finished, come in and put your sewing machine foot on the edge of your seam and go diagonal again. You should also do ditch in the stich or use a free motion stitch to make it however you want.

Congrats your Scrap fabric Coaster Tutorial is finished. I always have some on hand in a box in case I need a last minute gift. Also check out our Scrap fabric quilt patterns for more scrap fabric ideas.
