Fabrics Needed

You only need 3 fabrics for this quilt. I got fabric from Fat Quarter Shop for piecing this Georgia quilt block pattern. They have daily deals that are awesome.
The finished size of your quilt block is 10″ x 10″. Here are the sizes you need to cut
- Light/Yellow: 8 – 2.5″ squares
- Darker Yellow 2 – 3″ squares, 9 – 2.5″ squares
- Dark/red: 2 – 3″ squares, 4 – 2.5″ squares
Sewing Directions for Georgia Quilt Block Pattern

Half Square Triangle Units:
Step 1:
Using the darker yellow 3″ squares and red fabric 3″ squares, sew together Half Square Triangle units. Press the seam allowance toward the red fabric.
Step 2:
Repeat Step 1 to make a total of four Half Square Triangle units.
Assemble your Quilt block

Lay out all the 2.5″ squares and the four Half Square Triangle units as shown in the picture above.
Sew each row using a 1/4″ seam allowance. Press the seam allowances. I recommend you press away from the Half Square Triangles and then in alternating directions from row to row. This will help your quilt block lay flat.
This is especially important if you are going to put a backing on your quilt block and hang it up or if you are using your Georgia quilt block pattern to make a quilt.
