Create your Nine Patch Star Quilt Block

for the baby quilt you will need 30 quilt blocks. You will also need quilt backing and batting to finish your quilt. I used this fabric from Fat Quarter Shop
Assemble your Nine Patch Star Quilt Pattern

You need to lay out 5 quilt blocks per row and create 6 rows. Sew each row using a 1/4″ seam allowance. You want to press all your seam allowances going one direction for each row.
On the next row, alternate the direction of your seams. Continue this back and forth with each row. This will help them lay flat.
Once you complete your 5 rows, sew rows by placing your right sides together and continue sewing using a 1/4″ seam allowance. Press your seams all going 1 direction.
Add Your Border
I recommend doing a 2-3″ border to your quilt center. This just adds some fun to your nine patch star quilt pattern.
Finish Your Quilt
You will want to measures your quilt center and borders and cut your quilt batting and backing. I typically do it a little larger on all sides and then trim it when it’s finished.
Finish by adding some binding in a coordinating color.
