Fabrics needed

This finished quilt top measures 33×49 in.

  • 2 1/4 yards total of assorted scrap fabrics for squares
  • 1 1/8 Yards of green fabric for squares and binding
  • 1 5/8 Yards of backing fabric
  • 39 x 55″ of Quilt batting

Cutting instructions for scrap fabric baby quilt

Make sure and cut your Fabrics in the following order. The featured quilt pattern is one of concentric squares fans of 4812 and 16 squares around a single Center Square. In this scrap fabric baby quilt the final square is 16 is green.

If you love The Look of this baby quilt, cut your squares accordingly.

From your scrap Fabrics cut

  • 1,272- 1 1/2″ squares

From your green fabric cut

  • 5- 2 1/2 x 42″ binding strips
  • 346- 1 1/2″ squares

Assemble Your Baby quilt

Referring to the picture above, lay out your green fabric one and a half inch squares any assorted scrap Fabrics one and a half squares in 49 horizontal rows of 33 squares for each row.

So together this squares in each row. Make sure and press the seam allowances in One Direction, alternating the Direction with each row. This will make it easier to assemble your rose for your scrap fabric baby quilt.

Go ahead and join the rose to complete the quilt top. Press the seam allowances in One Direction.

Congrats your scrap fabric baby quilt is just about finished. Go ahead and grab your batting and your backing Fabric and sandwich your pieces together. You can easily use a domestic sewing machine or you could use a long arm machine to finish your quilt.

Once you’re finished go ahead and add your binding, and then you can keep it for your own little one, or give it as a gift.
